What Role Does The Unloading Valve Play In The Pressure Reducer?

1. Pressure Protection

The unloading valve works in conjunction with the pressure regulator to prevent excessive system pressure. When the system pressure reaches the upper limit set by the pressure regulator, the pressure regulator sends a signal to open the unloading valve. After the unloading valve opens, the fluid in the system (such as hydraulic oil or gas) can flow back to the tank or low-pressure area through the unloading valve, so that the system pressure drops rapidly, avoiding damage to the system due to excessive pressure and equipment components.

2. Energy-Saving Effect

In some hydraulic or pneumatic systems, when the system pressure reaches the requirements, there is no need for the system to continue to work at high pressure. The unloading valve works in conjunction with the pressure regulator to unload the pump and other power sources after the pressure has stabilised. For example, in the hydraulic system, when the hydraulic cylinder and other actuating elements to the specified position, the system pressure rises to the pressure regulator set value, the unloading valve action, the hydraulic pump output can be through the unloading valve back to the hydraulic pump at this time in the low load (or even close to no load) state of operation, reducing the power consumption, reducing the energy consumption of the system.

3. Stabilising System Pressure

Pressure regulator is used to set the working pressure range of the system, the unloading valve according to the pressure regulator signal for dynamic adjustment of the system pressure. When the system pressure fluctuates due to external factors (e.g. load changes), the pressure regulator senses such changes and controls the opening and closing of the unloading valve. If the pressure is too high, the unloading valve unloads; if the pressure is reduced to the set lower limit, the unloading valve closes, so that the system pressure rises again, thus stabilising the system pressure within the range set by the pressure regulator and ensuring the stable operation of the system.
